Lineta Pritchard Pottery Studio Donations
They say it takes a village. Creating building and now outfitting the Art Museum's first-ever Pottery Studio has required a village of designers, contractors, vendors - and some very special and generous donors.
We're excited that the long-awaited Lineta Pritchard Pottery Studio will soon be up and running, with a projected opening date of March 11, 2018.
The first addition to our facility since opening 20 years ago, this 1,000-square-foot facility in the underutilized space on the ground floor of the Museum is the site for a completely new, creative art form. It will be a fully-enclosed, all weather studio with six pottery wheels, a hand-building area for up to 10 students, a glazing surface with storage for a colorful assortment of glazes, a cleaning station and a separate room for a kiln. It will be the site of pottery classes five days a week for students of ages and skill levels.
With a grant from The Chapin Foundation and gifs from other generous community friends and donors, we had planned to be able to open our new Pottery Studio debt-free. And we're close - but not quite there. Can you help put us over the top? We hope you'll take a moment and make this very special dream for the community a reality. Thank you. And, please, come play in the mud with us!
